STATE FAIR “WIN $500,000 TOWARD YOUR DREAM HOME” INSTANT-WIN GAME OFFICIAL RULES


NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID OUTSIDE THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES AND D.C., AND WHEREVER PROHIBITED.

The State Fair “Win $500,000 Toward Your Dream Home” Instant-win Game (“Game”) is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and D.C. who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at time of game play. See Rule 3 below for further eligibility restrictions. Game Codes will be available in specially marked packages of State Fair Corn Dogs beginning on or about 2/01/10 and for free, by mail (see below), beginning on 1/10/10, until 11/01/10 or when supplies of Game Codes are exhausted, whichever occurs first (“Game Code Distribution Period”).

1. HOW TO OBTAIN CODES:

There are two (2) ways to obtain codes: Purchase one (1) specially marked package of State Fair Corn Dogs (“Participating Product”) during the Game Code Distribution Period. Four (4) game codes (“Game Codes”) will be included on a label (“Game Code label”) affixed to the inside of each Participating Product. FOR FREE GAME CODES: To request four (4) free Game Codes, send a self-addressed stamped envelope (Vermont residents omit return postage) to: State Fair “Win $500,000 Toward Your Dream Home” Game Code Request, P.O. Box 6003, Morton Grove, IL 60053. Requests must be postmarked by 11/01/10, and received by 11/07/10 and will be honored only during the Game Code Distribution Period and while supplies last. Limit one (1) request per postmarked outer mailing envelope, four (4) Game Codes per request. No postage-metered requests, photocopies or mechanical reproductions or other forms of requests will be accepted. Game Codes must be obtained legitimately. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, mutilated, stolen, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, or postage-due mail requests. All requests become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. A total of 25,320,000 Game Codes will be available for distribution during the Game Code Distribution Period.

2. HOW TO PLAY THE GAME:

Beginning 2/01/10 at 12:00:00 a.m. CT through 11/21/10 at 11:59:59 p.m. CT (“Online Game Period”), log on to www.StateFairDreamHome.com (“Website”) click on the “Win $500,000 Toward Your Dream Home” icon and follow the on-screen instructions to create an account (“Account”) and play the Game. All participants must read and accept the full Official Rules and will receive an email acknowledging creation of their Account. Please see the privacy policy located at http://saralee.com/PrivacyPolicy.aspx for details of Sponsor's policy regarding the use of personal information collected in connection with this Game.

You must have Adobe Flash Player 9.0.28 or higher to play. If you do not have Adobe Flash Player 9.0.28 or higher, your browser will automatically be directed to a website where you may download the latest version for free. If you need to upgrade but your browser does not automatically direct you to the website, visit www.Adobe.com for assistance. Once you have created an Account, enter one (1) Game Code to play the Game. Each Game Code will entitle you to one (1) game play (“Game Play”) and may not be shared or transferred. Limit one (1) Game Play per Game Code. After each Game Play, one (1) of six (6) Dream Home Rooms may be collected (as indicated on-screen) (collection of the same room multiple times is possible). The available Dream Home Rooms that could be collected are as follows:

You may enter additional Game Codes by logging into your Account and entering the Game Codes during the Online Game Period. Save all of your Game Code labels; you will be required to send them to Sponsor to verify that you are a winner of any prize.

3. ELIGIBILITY:

Open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and D.C., who are eighteen (18) years of age and older at time of game play. Employees of Sara Lee Corporation (“Sponsor”), Promotion Activators, Inc., Launch Creative Marketing, SCA Promotions, Inc., their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, retailers and their advertising, promotion, and judging agencies, and any entity involved in the development, production, distribution of materials for and implementation of the Game (collectively “Promotion Parties”), and members of their immediate family (defined for these purposes as parents, children, siblings, step-parents, step-children, step-siblings, and their respective spouses) or persons living in the same household (whether related or not) of such employees are not eligible to play or win. Void outside the fifty (50) United States and D.C., and where prohibited.

4. THERE ARE UP TO THREE (3) WAYS TO WIN:


(1) COLLECT & WIN:

To win the Grand Prize (subject to verification), all six (6) rooms (Family Room, Laundry Room, Backyard, Home Office, Kitchen, and Dining Room) must be collected in an Account during the Online Game Period, subject to verification. If a participant collects all six (6) Dream Home Rooms, an on-screen message will announce that the participant is a potential winner of the Grand Prize (subject to verification of Game Code labels/Game Codes and compliance with the Official Rules). An email will be sent with redemption instructions that the potential winner must follow to claim the prize. The Dining Room Prize will be considered part of the Collect & Win portion of the Game.

(2) INSTANT WIN:

Each time you enter a Game Code and complete a Game Play, you may be eligible to win a prize. Each individual Instant Win Prize may not be won more than one (1) time per Account/person/e-mail address. If you receive an on-screen message that states “Congratulations! You have won”, you are the potential winner of the prize described, subject to verification of Game Code label that contains the Game Code entered and compliance with these Official Rules. An email will be sent with redemption instructions that the potential winner must follow to claim the prize. If you receive a message that states: “Sorry. You are not a winner,” or something similar, you are not a winner.

(3) DRAWING:

Only in the event the Grand Prize is not awarded, a $10,000.00 cash prize will be awarded in a Drawing on or about 12/14/10 from among all participants who create an Account and play the Game. You will receive one (1) entry into the Drawing (if a Drawing occurs) by creating an Account, and submitting at least one (1) valid Game Code for a Game Play during the Online Game Period. Limit one (1) Drawing entry per Account/person/e-mail address. Game Play must occur by 11/21/10 at 11:59:59 p.m. CT to receive an entry in the Drawing.

5. PRIZE VERIFICATION:

All prizes are subject to verification. Use of any robotic, automatic, programmed or similar entry method will void all entries and result in disqualification. Potential Grand Prize, Dining Room Prize, and Instant Win prize winners will be notified on-screen that they are a potential winner of the stated prize, and will receive instructions regarding the method to claim their prize. Potential Instant Win prize winners (except winners of State Fair Products), Dining Room Prize and Grand Prize winners will be required to submit their original Game Code label(s) that contains the Game Code(s) associated with their prize claim, which will be reviewed for authenticity. To claim a Grand Prize, Dining Room Prize, or Instant Win prize, potential winner must sign his/her initials in ink on the face of the Game Code label(s). Send initialed Game Code label(s) and a 3 x 5 card with potential winner’s name, address, city, state, zip and birth date to the address provided at the time of notification to be received by Sponsor no later than 12/01/10. All submissions become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. Registered, certified or traceable mail is recommended. All prize claims must be received at the address as instructed when notified. Claims that are not received by 12/01/10 are void. Timely and proper submissions of prize claims are the potential winners' sole responsibility. Upon verification, your prize will either be mailed to you, or you will be notified by email or regular mail advising how to obtain your prize. It is recommended that you retain a copy of your Game Code(s) and all prize claim materials for your files. Any prizes that are not claimed in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded.

POTENTIAL WINNING PLAYS ARE SUBJECT TO VERIFICATION BY SPONSOR, WHOSE DECISIONS ARE FINAL AND BINDING. A "SCREEN SHOT" IS NOT PROOF OR EVIDENCE OF A WINNING GAME PLAY AND/OR PRIZE. A PARTICIPANT IS NOT A WINNER OF ANY PRIZE, EVEN IF THE INSTANT WIN OR COLLECT & WIN SHOULD SO INDICATE, UNLESS AND UNTIL SAID PARTICIPANT'S ELIGIBILITY AND THE POTENTIAL WINNING PLAY HAS BEEN VERIFIED AND SAID PARTICIPANT HAS BEEN NOTIFIED THAT VERIFICATION IS COMPLETE. SPONSOR WILL NOT ACCEPT SCREEN SHOTS OR OTHER EVIDENCE OF WINNING IN LIEU OF ITS VALIDATION PROCESS. ANY PLAY THAT OCCURS AFTER THE SYSTEM HAS FAILED FOR ANY REASON IS DEEMED A DEFECTIVE PLAY, IS VOID, AND WILL NOT BE HONORED.

6. PRIZES AND ODDS:

Instant-win Prizes: Instant Win prizes are randomly time-seeded throughout the Online Game Period and awarded to the person who plays on or after the time the prize is randomly seeded. The odds of winning are based upon time of day when you play the Game during the Online Game Period (as recorded by the Web Site technology) and the number of plays received. The following prizes are available to be won: Three (3) 52” HD LCD TVs: Winners will receive one (1) 52” HD LCD TV. The make and model will be at Sponsor’s sole discretion and is to be determined. Winner may elect to receive a $2,000 Best Buy Gift Card in lieu of 52” HD LCD TV. Approximate retail value (“ARV”): $2,000.00. The ARV of electronic prizes is subject to price fluctuations in the consumer marketplace based on, among other things, any gap in time between the date the ARV is estimated for purposes of these Official Rules and the date the prize is awarded or redeemed.

Three (3) Washer/Dryer Packages: Winners will receive one (1) package that consists of a washing machine and a dryer. The make and model will be at Sponsor’s sole discretion and is to be determined. Installation of washer and dryer and any costs associated therein, are winner’s sole responsibility. Winner may elect to receive a $2,000 Best Buy gift card in lieu of Washer/Dryer Package. ARV: $2,000.00. Three (3) Charbroil Grills and Play-sets: Winners will receive one (1) Charbroil Grill and Play-set. Winner may elect to receive a $2,000 Visa Gift Card (retailer to be determined) in lieu of grill and play-set. ARV: $2,000.00. Three (3) Dell Laptops: Winners will receive one (1) Dell Laptop (model to be determined and at Sponsor’s sole discretion). Winner may also elect to receive a $2,000 Visa Gift Card in lieu of Dell Laptop. Gift Cards are subject to the terms and conditions set by the issuer and may not be redeemed for cash. Ten thousand (10,000) Packages of State Fair Products. Each winner will receive one (1) coupon which may be redeemed for one (1) free State Fair product (up to $4.99). ARV: $4.99 each. Limit (1) coupon per purchase. Coupon is void if copied, sold, exchanged, or transferred and is not redeemable in thrift or outlet stores. Consumer is responsible for sales tax.

Collect & Win Prizes: The odds for each, individual Game Play of collecting the Dining Room, (if still available at time of Game Play), are 1 in 25,320,000. The odds for each, individual Game Play of collecting any one (1) of the other five (5) rooms is 1 in 5. The following prizes are available to be won:

One (1) Grand Prize: One (1) $500,000 cash prize, intended to be used towards the purchase of the winner’s dream home. Prize will be awarded in the form of a check to the winner. The odds of winning the Grand Prize are based upon obtaining all six (6) rooms. Approximate Odds of winning the Grand Prize: 1 in 109,895,834.

One (1) Dining Room Prize: One (1) Wireless Sound System: Winner will receive one (1) wireless sound system (make/model is to be determined and at Sponsor’s sole discretion). ARV: $1,000.00. The odds for each, individual, Game Play of collecting the Dining Room and winning the Dining Room Prize (if still available at time of Game Play), are 1 in 25,320,000.

As Collect & Win and Instant Win prizes are won during the Game, the number of available to be won will adjust accordingly.

Drawing Prize: One (1) Drawing prize will only be awarded in the event that the Grand Prize is not awarded. The Drawing prize winner will receive $10,000.00 (awarded in the form of a check) intended towards the purchase of a home improvement room makeover. If Drawing occurs, odds of winning will depend on the number of entries received.

Total maximum ARV of all prizes: $574,900.00.

No substitution or transfer of prize permitted by winner. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Unclaimed or forfeited prizes will not be awarded.

7. GENERAL RULES:

All taxes resulting from acceptance of prize are the responsibility of winner. Potential Grand Prize, Dining Room Prize, Instant Win Prize (except State Fair Products prize), and (if applicable) Drawing prize winners will be notified by overnight mail and must sign (or a parent or legal guardian must sign if an eligible minor) any required Affidavit and Release within fourteen (14) days of attempted delivery or prize will be forfeited. If any prize/prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or in the event of non-compliance with any other requirements, the prize will be forfeited in its entirety. Prizes will be fulfilled approximately 8-10 weeks after verification.

By playing the Game, participant accepts and agrees to these Official Rules and the decisions of Judges, which shall be final in all matters. Acceptance also constitutes permission to the Promotion Parties to use winner’s name, likeness and biographical information for marketing purposes without further compensation or right of approval, unless prohibited by law. By participating in the Game and/or accepting a prize, participants (or each eligible minor participant's parent or legal guardian) hereby releases and agrees to hold Promotion Parties harmless from and against any and all costs, injuries, losses or damages (whether due to negligence or otherwise) of any kind including, without limitation, death and bodily injury and property damage, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, to participation in the Game or any Game-related activity, or the receipt, use or misuse of any prize. Promotion Parties are not responsible for lost, interrupted, inaccessible or unavailable networks, servers, satellites, Internet Service Providers, website, telephone or other connections; or for miscommunications, failed, jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected computer, telephone or cable transmissions; or for programming errors or for any technical malfunctions, failures, or difficulties, printing errors, clerical, typographical or other error in the offering or announcement of any prize or in any prize notification documents, or other errors of any kind or nature; or for the incorrect or inaccurate capture of information, or the failure to capture, or loss of, any information, or for lost, late, or misdirected mail, or any human error which many occur in the programming of this Game. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. If due to a printing, computer programming, production, technical, seeding or any other error, more prizes are claimed than intended to be awarded for any prize level per above, the intended prizes will be awarded in a random drawing from among all verified and validated prize claims received. In no event will Sponsor be liable for more than the stated number of prizes in this Game. Sponsor reserves the right to, without prior notice and at any time, terminate this Game, in whole or in part, or suspend or modify this Game in any way, should any factor interfere with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Official Rules. In the event of cancellation, Sponsor will randomly award the prizes under the terms set forth herein from among all eligible, non-suspect game plays received prior to cancellation. In the event a dispute arises as to the identity of a potentially winning participant, winning participant shall be deemed the name on Account. This Game is subject to all federal and state laws. If a dispute cannot be resolved to Sponsor's satisfaction, the entry will be deemed ineligible. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who is found to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Game; to be acting in violation of these Official Rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with the intent to disrupt or undermine the legitimate operation of the Game, or to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Sponsor assumes no responsibility for any damage to a participant's computer by participating in the Game. Game Codes/Game Code labels will be void if they contain printing or other errors or are printed or produced in error. Game Codes are also void if not obtained through authorized, legitimate channels (i.e. EBay, barter and transfer), or if any part is defective, illegible, altered, duplicated, photocopied, reproduced, forged, counterfeited, defaced, mutilated or tampered with in any way, or if they contain, or are the result of, a printing, seeding, digital, electronic typographical, mechanical or any other errors. Sole liability for any Game Code labels containing printing or any other irregularities and/or errors, or which reveal an illegible or unreadable Game Code or for any irregular on-line play, is limited to replacement with a free Game Code and/or Game Play while supplies last during the Online Game Period.

8. WAIVER AND GOVERNING LAW:

By playing this Game, participants (and their parents/legal guardians, if eligible minors in their state of residence) waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages, attorneys' fees or any damages other than actual out-of-pocket expenses.

Note: Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitations or exclusion of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you. By playing this Game, participants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, participant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Game, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of State of Illinois, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Illinois. By entering, participants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state and local courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
